Why the
"WHY TOs" are so important
There are two groups in the world...
Innovators solve problems.
Imitators tend to cause them.
By the nature of their ground-breaking work, innovators have to come to an understanding
of WHY things work — the principles and laws that govern the universe — before they
can create the structures, methodologies and systems that are actually HOW things
work.
Those critically important WHY-TOs are usually invisible — hidden behind barriers
like time, distance or hard work.
Imitators see the effects — the HOW-TOs — and think that's all there is to
it. If they can just learn HOW TO do a thing, they'll be in control.
Wrong!
Until you know WHY it works, you can NEVER be in control of a thing, system, process
or concept.
So we end up with a world full of imitators wanting to know HOW TO ("Don't
bother me with all that other stuff, just tell me HOW!" is their single-minded
catchcry), and a handful of innovators left to clean up the mess and find
simpler, better, smarter ways to make life easier for the mindless majority.
Interestingly, a high percentage of the true innovators of history display many of
the attributes of Asperger's Syndrome. :)
Here are the comments of a few high profile innovators about my own ideas on these
matters — especially business, and network marketing in particular.

Wow!
I just read your article on "Why Do You Need A Business Plan At All." It
was one of the most well-written business articles I've ever read.
I really appreciated that you talked about "Why-to's." Frankly, very few
authors/speakers take the time to explain "why" things are important
they're in such a rush to get to the "how-to's." But you took the time
to get behind the "how-to's" to the "reasons why" and that's
what made your article so powerful and so effective.
It's been a delight for me to read your words. I don't think I've ever read articles
that challenge my thinking, and help me understand my business, as well as the articles
you write.

“This guy [John Counsel] doesn't
just butcher all your favourite sacred MLM cows. He barbecues 'em and serves 'em
up to you one slice at a time... and you LOVE it!”

“Dynamite, John. Absolutely wonderful
stuff. Not that I’m surprised, mind you. Just very pleased to see such a considered
and thoughtful approach to what is all too often seen as a thoughtless and inconsiderate
industry.”

“At last! Someone
finally has the tools to expose the ugly element of MLM for what it really is, and
to restore its integrity and credibility once and for all. This is for those interested
in combining principles and integrity powerfully in business and in all other
relationships. Discover these principles and live them, and nothing — nothing — will be the same for you again.”

"I owe you an
apology, John. Before the session I said to the person next to me that I didn't think
I could learn anything new from you. As a 30-year veteran of direct selling, I thought
I knew it all. I've been personally tutored by some of the best in the business,
including Tom Hopkins and Zig Ziglar. But in the first few minutes of your presentation
I realised how completely wrong I was. I have NEVER heard stuff like this. You're
the best of the best! Brilliant!"
